In 15th of December, I had a new experience as a
volunteer for SSAA Swinburne.
I met Ken, he is Malaysian, studying master
of network engineer.
I also knew An, alias Dilu, she is from
Srilanka, studying master of IT. Wow, it’s IT!!! I will need her help someday
hahaha
And I met Dave. But I didn’t chat too much
with him. I think he’s studying bachelor of engineer.
There’s an event named Swinburne Transition
Day for ELICOS students. And that day is their graduation day. So they will decide
whether they want to go back to their country or continue their study here, at
Swinburne.
Paul, the SSAA staff, gave me and Ken a
tee. And I think it would be good if we wear it, so the students will notice
us.
Me and Ken carried 3 tables upstairs. Then
we set the drink, pour it into the cups. Aaaand the pizza arrived!! Yes, we had
pizza for the lunch. There are piles of pizza boxes, with different flavours.
The event started at around 12.45. Lots of
students came. Oh, it’s in the 2nd floor of George’s Building.
We wore blue gloves, and at the lunch session,
we handed the pizza to the students.
Actually, the pizza is very salty :(
After the students were gone, we collected
the rubbish. And we carried back the tables downstairs.
Paul told me to take a Log Sheet to be
signed by the staff, as a prove that I’ve been volunteering in an event. Carla,
another staff, signed my sheet. I’ve got my first 2 hrs volunteering!! :D yeah
If we collect minimum 15 hrs volunteering,
we will have a chance to join a free leadership training. Sounds great..
Well, I’m looking forward to help you guys
again. And thanks for the pizza ;)
